The OPPO Reno8 5G has finally been launched, and we got to get our hands on it for this first-look review. We’ve been using it for 2 weeks now and have some thoughts. It comes with two SONY sensors – a 50MP main camera and a 32MP selfie camera. It is powered by a Dimensity 1300 chipset and has a 6.4″ AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. We’ve always known OPPO for their battery prowess, and they are not disappointing this time either. It comes with a 4500 mAh battery and an 80W SuperVOOC charger. As for storage, it rocks 13GB RAM and 256GB.
Whilst all these have been impressive so far, our top two candidates are the cameras and a new intelligent Anti-theft feature. Let’s talk about them.
OPPO Reno8 First Impressions Review
Amazing Cameras
The cameras caught our eyes first, and we had to test them. Have a look for yourself. The dynamic range of colours in the photos is quite exemplary. The Sony sensors bring out the quality and clarity in the photos. Be it selfies or 50MP main camera photos, this should be your next camera phone. We used the phone to attend night events, and even then, the photos were outstanding.

Special Feature: Anti Theft
Apart from the high-capacity battery, fast chipset, quick charging and beautiful design and colour choices, it would not matter if you lost your phone. The OPPO Reno8 might have a great solution for this.
It comes with a ‘Require password to power off device’ setting that allows you to set your device to require the Lock Screen password whenever you power off your device using the power button. This can prevent your device from being powered off by someone else so you can find it remotely if you lose it.
